"Cancer is not a disease, but a manifestation," says Cancer surgeon Dr Anshuman Kumar as he emphasises on the "actual" factors that lead up to it. He listed diabetes, heart disease, PCOS, dementia, obesity as the lead causes that contribute to cancer.
Dr Anshuman Kumar appeared at The Archana Show podcast where he spoke about the same. On being asked what does this statement actually mean, he says, "There is now a market around cancer, there are medications, that is why it has been deemed as a disease. But before cancer, there are a lot of things happening in our body cells that can be stopped."
He explained, "Glycation, methylation, oxidative stress, and many more things happen before they get converted into cancer. If we stop that, then we can prevent ourselves from cancer. But nobody talks about it. If people are aware about it, then cancer can be stopped. These factors are what get manifested into cancer."
MMMS is what needs to be taken care of to prevent yourself from cancer, the doctor explained.
- M means meal: What do you eat in a day.
- M means movement: Any form of exercise is important. Stretch your body at every hour.
- M means mind: Make sure your mind is at peace.
- S means sleep: Deep sleep for at least 6-8 hours is required. Regular and sound sleep is very important.
Out of all the types of cancer, breast cancer remains one of the most challenging health conditions to combat, and a recent study led by Dr. Gary Luker from the University of Michigan sheds light on a concerning phenomenon. According to the research, some breast cancer cells can remain dormant in the body for years or even decades after treatment, only to resurface later, leading to a relapse. These findings are particularly relevant for patients with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer, as these "sleeper cells" have unique mechanisms that enable them to evade detection and treatment.
