Director and producer Karan Johar has been the talk of the town ever since due to his back-to-back hit films. The filmmaker has been making headlines for his movies for a long time. However, this time the reason is something else! Karan Johar recently appeared on Kapil Sharma’s Show on Netflix where the audience saw a drastic weight loss transformation of the director. This left netizens in splits as some have also speculated that he opted for Ozempic. Amid all this, the filmmaker cleared all the rumours by opening up on this weight loss journey. He said that his recent weight loss was the result of a healthy lifestyle and not Ozempic.
He took to X (formerly Twitter) where he shared a screenshot of a tweet where the filmmaker clarified that his weight loss was healthy. The screenshot featured a tweet that read, “Maheep (Maheep Kapoor) rightly called out people for using Ozempic for fast weight loss and driving it out of stock for people with diabetes. Hope she calls out Karan Johar too, the producer of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.”
Karan wrote on Instagram stories on Saturday where he reacted to the tweet saying, “Being healthy and eating well and reinventing the wheel of your own nutrition! Aur Ozempic ko mile credit (And the credit goes to Ozempic)??”
Ozempic, an injectable drug first approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2017, was initially used to help lower blood sugar levels in adults with Type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise. However, with the rising popularity of weight loss drugs, many have speculated about celebrities using Ozempic.
Ozempic works by acting as a naturally occurring hormone. As those hormone levels rise, the molecules go to your brain, telling it you're full. It also slows digestion by increasing the time it takes for food to leave the body. This is similar to the effect of bariatric surgery.
As per research, ozempic can help people lose weight, which can reduce the risk for many other serious health conditions, such as heart problems. Semaglutide treatments can also be used as an alternative to bariatric surgery for some patients who are obese. The degree of weight loss achieved with surgery is usually much greater and lasts longer than with medications.
Experts still recommend that people avoid using Ozempic unless they have type 2 diabetes. Instead, talk to your health expert about starting Wegovy for weight loss. When using Ozempic to treat diabetes, weight loss is a common side effect. It is designed to be taken long-term. The FDA warns people of the dangers of using "generic" Ozempic and Wegovy. It says there are no approved generic versions of this drug.
When Karan Johar recently appeared at public events looking slimmer, it created a buzz on social media. Numerous before-and-after pictures of him took over the internet, leading to rumours about his weight loss journey. Addressing these speculations, Karan clarified that his transformation was a result of healthy weight loss and disciplined dietary choices, not due to the use of any medication.
